About the role
A high-growth legal technology business is seeking an R&D Attorney to sit at the intersection of legal practice and product development. Embedded directly within engineering squads, the successful candidate will serve as the legal domain expert and product partner, translating complex in-house legal workflows into precise product requirements, designing robust evaluation benchmarks for AI outputs, and utilising modern developer tools to ship features and fixes directly into the product.
What we are looking for
- Qualified attorney with a minimum of 5 years of legal experience, including significant private practice training (top-tier firm experience strongly preferred) alongside in-house exposure. - Substantive domain expertise in an area of commercial law (e.g. corporate, fintech, compliance, commercial contracts, or employment). - Genuine comfort utilising AI and developer tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor) with a builder mindset and willingness to contribute directly to product codebases. - Strong project management and cross-functional communication abilities, with demonstrated career stability.
Compensation
$150,000 - $240,000 base salary (no bonus component).
