About the role
A high-growth technology business is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own Python data pipelines and the data ontology for an AI-native operating system targeting CFOs. The role involves building and owning production Python pipelines to load customer data into graph and vector stores, adding new data providers and connectors (e.g., Snowflake, ERP, accounting, billing systems), and designing the data ontology to ensure accurate AI retrieval and agent reasoning over multi-entity financial data. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, with a progression towards a tech lead position, including mentoring a core data team and shaping long-term data architecture. The successful candidate will report directly to the CTO within a flat, low-ego, remote-first team.
What we are looking for
6-10 years of experience in data engineering, ML systems, or backend-heavy engineering roles. Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, SurrealDB, Graph Databases, Vector Stores, SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, GCP, ETL/ELT Pipelines, API Integrations, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, RAG, GraphRAG, and Data Modeling is desirable.
Compensation
£90,000 – £110,000 base salary, with potential for a higher offer for exceptional candidates.
