About the role
A premier boutique corporate law firm is seeking a Senior Venture Attorney to join its practice in Texas. This is an autonomous role leading venture capital transactions and acting as a trusted advisor to founders, emerging growth companies, and venture capital investors. Working alongside equity partners, the successful candidate will lead financings from seed through Series A and beyond, manage client relationships, and mentor junior associates, all within an environment offering sustainable hours and substantial financial upside.
What we are looking for
- 5–8 years of venture capital and emerging companies legal experience within a recognized law firm practice.\n- Proven track record leading SAFE, convertible note, Series Seed, and NVCA-based financings.\n- Demonstrated capability in drafting entity formation, governance, and organizational documentation.\n- Experience modeling pro forma cap tables and financing structures (anti-dilution, note/SAFE conversions, post-money ownership).\n- Active US state bar license; Texas bar admission strongly preferred.\n- Collaborative, low-ego demeanor with strong client relationship skills.
Compensation
$189,000 - $250,000+ base salary, plus an aggressive bonus structure including target-hitting bonus (1,350 billable hours), tier-based bonuses for additional hours (~$10,000 per 50 hours at senior level), and origination bonuses for new client work.
