About the role
A boutique corporate law firm based in Texas is seeking a Venture Capital Attorney to join its expanding practice in Dallas or Austin. The position offers direct exposure to founders, emerging growth companies, and venture capital investors, handling transactions from seed stage through Series A and beyond. With an intentionally manageable billable hours requirement (1,350 hours annually), this opportunity suits a practitioner seeking high-quality transactional venture work alongside genuine work-life balance and high partner accessibility.
What we are looking for
- 2 to 5 years of dedicated venture capital legal experience, ideally gained within a recognised national or boutique venture practice. - Substantial practical experience with SAFEs, convertible notes, Series Seed, and NVCA financing documentation. - Licensed to practice law in Texas (or eligible and willing to obtain admission). - Approximately 2 years of prior professional work experience prior to law school preferred. - Demonstrated ability to run transactions, draft complex financing documentation, and liaise directly with clients autonomously.
Compensation
Base salary of $130,000–$175,000 (Associate level) or $189,000–$250,000+ (Senior level), alongside a performance-oriented bonus structure tied to billable hours.
