IP Litigation Associate or Partner

Irvine, CA

About the role

A leading international law firm is seeking an IP Litigation Associate or Partner with 5–8 years of experience to join its sophisticated litigation practice. The role involves handling complex intellectual property disputes across patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, playing a key role in driving case strategy, managing multi-jurisdictional litigation, and contributing to the growth of the practice. Responsibilities include managing all phases of IP litigation—from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal—in federal courts, the PTAB, and potentially ITC proceedings. The successful candidate will draft and argue dispositive motions, Markman briefs, and other critical pleadings, take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses, and develop and execute case strategy, including damages theories, in coordination with technical experts and in-house counsel. Mentoring junior associates and contributing to business development and client relationships are also key aspects of the role.
