About the role
A prominent US law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate to join its New York office. The role involves managing general commercial litigation matters with substantial autonomy, taking and defending depositions (including expert depositions), drafting and arguing motions in New York State and federal courts, conducting witness preparation, and first-chairing proceedings while working directly with partners and clients in a lean, collaborative team structure.
What we are looking for
- Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the New York Bar. - 5–7 years of general commercial litigation experience. - Demonstrated hands-on courtroom exposure, including deposition, motion practice, and witness preparation experience. - Experience appearing in New York State and federal courts. - Strong legal research, writing capabilities, and academic record. - High degree of autonomy and ability to take ownership of complex matters.
Compensation
$250,000 - $280,000 base salary

Benefits
Bonus scheme based on billable hours (starting at 1,900 billable hours with incremental checkpoints every 25 hours), fee generation bonus (10% of fees billed and collected above $10,000 from personal clients), and eligibility for a prorated bonus for joining before year-end.
