About the role
A rapidly growing boutique law firm specialising in affordable housing and community development is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join its New York office. The successful candidate will take deal ownership on complex transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and multi-layered LIHTC and tax-exempt bond financing structures. Working closely with senior practitioners in a flat, collaborative structure, the role offers high levels of responsibility, bespoke mentorship, and dedicated weekly training within a mission-driven practice.
What we are looking for
• Approximately 3 to 6 years of transactional real estate experience at a law firm, with specific expertise in affordable housing or LIHTC transactions. • Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex transaction documentation, including purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents, and organizational documents. • Experience managing execution and closing multi-layered, multi-source financing transactions. • Broader commercial real estate transactional experience is advantageous.
Compensation
$190,000–$260,000 base salary, alongside a two-part annual bonus featuring both guaranteed and discretionary/performance components.
