About the role
An impact-focused boutique law firm is seeking a Senior Debt Finance Attorney at Partner or Of Counsel level to independently lead and execute bespoke secured lending and private credit transactions. Working with lenders, investment funds, family offices, and development finance institutions, the successful candidate will draft and negotiate credit, security, and intercreditor agreements across sophisticated, non-standard structures. The role offers substantial autonomy to help shape and expand the firm's debt practice in close collaboration with fund and corporate teams, alongside a sustainable 1,400 billable hour target.
What we are looking for
• 10–15 years of debt finance experience, with a solid grounding from a major law firm (maximum of one year in-house). • Strong technical background in secured lending, asset-based lending, private credit, or direct lending. • Proven ability to run transactions independently in a lean, boutique environment. • J.D. and admission to at least one US state bar (New York preferred). • Long-term commitment to growing with the practice.
Compensation
Base salary of $250,000 – $400,000 depending on experience and book of business, plus tiered bonus structure and origination credit starting at 20%.
