About the role
We are looking for a Transactional Attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join California's premier HOA law firm and provide high-quality legal counsel to community associations statewide. You'll be joining a firm that is undisputedly the best in its niche, with a partnership track available for the right candidate and mentorship from partners with 35+ years of expertise. What will you be doing? Preparing and negotiating policies, notices, opinion letters, contracts, and general guidance for HOA boards and community managers Advising on corporate governance, Davis-Stirling Act compliance, CC&Rs, and real estate law matters Drafting Articles of Incorporation, By-laws, Board Resolutions, Cease and Desist letters, and voting guidelines Responding to client inquiries within 24 hours and managing a caseload requiring 1,800 billable hours annually Writing articles for publication and participating in industry marketing/education efforts
What we are looking for
5-7 years of transactional legal experience with strong exposure to corporate governance and/or community association law Excellent legal writing skills — a writing sample will be required during the interview process Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision; no hand-holding Experience with HOAs, CC&Rs, Davis-Stirling Act, or mixed-use developments strongly preferred Active California Bar membership and willingness to follow firm opinions and established legal positions
Compensation
Base salary of $145K-$180K depending on experience
